About Us
(Teachers Featured Below)
Dance Dreams began in 1977 in the garage of Glenna's family home taking over her Mother's studio her senior year in high school. She attended U.N.C. at Charlotte while teaching in the evenings and Saturdays at the studio, then known as Griffith School of Dance. Glenna graduated with a degree in dance education K-12 holding a Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree. Her studio moved from Glenn Ave, to Cannon Village and finally her dream came true! With the help of her husband, Alan Wilson, she built her own studio where she is currently located today on Brookdale Street in Kannapolis. Glenna's love for theater is apparent in her yearly productions and her special talent with the younger students was recognized nationally by Showstopper, the nation’s largest talent competition. She currently teaches with Showstopper and SHOCK workshops as they travel nationally in the fall and maintains her position as director and full time instructor at Dance Dreams. Glenna has the opportunity to travel along side of So You Think You Can Dance choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha and many more featured on the show. This is Glenna’s 35th year of inspiring students of all ages.

Tuition
Tuition will remain the same whether it is a long (5-week) or short (3-week) month and regardless of student absences. Please put your assigned Student or Family ID# in the memo space of your check or on an envelope with cash to properly apply your payment. It is payable a month in advance, due on the 1st lesson of each month. Tuition is a yearly contract but is broken down for your convenience into monthly payments. (Example: A student taking a 1 hour class is $605.00 per year or $55.00 per month.) A special discounted rate of $5 is given when the monthly fee is paid by the 5th! A $10.00 late fee will be added for payments not made by the 15th of each month. There is no billing statement mailed, only late reminder statements will be sent when an account becomes past due. If a month's fee is not paid, your child cannot return to class until your account is brought current. Inclement Weather
The studio will not necessarily close for snow days, regardless if area schools are closed, since many times roads are safe and clear by 3:00 PM. If in doubt, call the studio for a recording or check your email for whether class will be held or not. Make up classes will be done on another day to be announced.
Holidays
Holiday dates will be posted on our web site and on the entrance door. An email or note will also be given to your child prior to a holiday period.
Attendance
Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, and the studio cannot jeopardize its responsibilities to the rest of the class for one student. Please make every effort to have your child to class on time. Repetitive tardiness may result in your child not participating in the show regardless of your costume purchase. It is also important that you pick up your child on time. Repetitive lateness will result in a warning and a babysitting charge.
Class Observation
Parents’ observation days will be the fourth lesson of every month. Observing classes at other times is not permissible.
Fund Raising Optional fund raisers will be offered throughout the year to apply to costuming first and to tuition thereafter.
Recital
Our recital will be held usually the 2nd weekend in June at South Rowan High School. Please reserve Saturday morning/afternoon for dress rehearsal and Sunday afternoon for our show. If you do not wish to participate in the show for some reason, you must notify Glenna by the time costumes are ordered in November.
