About Us

Dance Dreams began in 1977 in the garage of Glenna's family home taking over her Mother's studio her senior year in high school. She attended U.N.C. at Charlotte while teaching in the evenings and Saturdays at the studio, then known as Griffith School of Dance. Glenna graduated with a degree in dance education K-12 holding a Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree. Her studio moved from Glenn Ave, to Cannon Village and finally her dream came true! She built her own studio where she is currently located today on Brookdale Street in Kannapolis. Glenna's love for theater is apparent in her yearly productions and her special talent with the younger students was recognized nationally by Showstopper, the nation’s largest talent competition. She currently teaches with Showstopper and SHOCK workshops as they travel nationally in the fall and maintains her position as director and full time instructor at Dance Dreams. Glenna has the opportunity to travel along side of So You Think You Can Dance choreographers as well as Broadway Stars. This is Glenna’s 41st year of inspiring students of all ages.

Facility

Dance Dreams is located less than 3 minutes from the Kannapolis Research Park in a convenient, yet remote, area in Kannapolis on Brookdale Street near the Fire Dept. and Skateland USA. Dance Dreams provides a 4600 sq. ft. facility and has 2 large studio dance rooms. Each room provides a space that measures 30x40 with unlimited ceiling space and an injury prevention dance floor. Our lobby is spacious and provides a space for parents who need to stay for various reasons. The kitchen area provides a space for kids to do their homework or grab a drink.

Payments

Dance Dreams does accept an auto pro pay by card for monthly payments on our DanceStudio-Pro site, however there is a 4% additional charge, otherwise cash and personal checks are accepted. Monthly Fees are due the first lesson of each month and no later than the 10th or a $10 late fee is added.

We offer a special class for ages 2.5-3 yrs (Mousercise), Preschool and Gradeschool Combination Classes, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical Ballet, Hip Hop, Princess Fun, Birthday Parties, Performance and Competitive Teams.

Birthday Parties

Hey Kids!!

Have your next BIRTHDAY PARTY at Dance Dreams.

Hey Moms!

It’s easier and you'll never have it any other way again!

Have your next party at Dance Dreams. The two hour party features a professionally trained instructor leading the kids in games, dance, gymnastics and all out fun! We provide a clean, safe atmosphere for your party and you don't have to worry about this fun messing up your home. The first hour is reserved for fun and entertainment and the second hour is for refreshments and opening gifts. You can treat yourself and your guests to a unique birthday experience that will be long remembered and have you ready to book your party for next year too!

Treat your daughter 9 & under to a Fantasy Fairytale Dress Up Party. This party comes complete with costumes for everyone to dress up in along with a visit to the Beauty Shop with makeup and nails for $100.00. A non-refundable deposit of half the total amount is due with registration to hold your date. The balance is due the day of the party.

We provide the entertainment, you provide the rest!!

Refreshments can be whatever you choose to bring. Be creative. Most people bring cake, ice cream, chips & dip or even pizza can be delivered. It is up to you. You can decorate with balloons and streamers. You’ll need any decorative tablecloth you like to put on the table we provide along with one or two plastic tablecloths for our Indoor Birthday Picnic. After snacks we join in the Friendship Circle for a lesson in birthday giving and receiving. If time is available, we finish our party off with one more game to leave everyone wishing they could have their next party at Dance Dreams!!

Days available for parties are Saturday or Sunday.

Suggested start times are: 1:30 and 3:30
